Exam structure

Understand the marking scheme below before attempting the paper.

Here is how the exam is structured.

Written Exam (OMR Based)

• +03 marks for each correct answer; 01 mark deducted for each wrong / multiple answer.
• All questions are MCQs with four options; darken the answer circle on the OMR sheet with a black ball point pen only.
• Question paper in Hindi and English (except language subjects).
• Syllabus is available on www.upessc.up.gov.in.

Who is eligible

Physical Education candidates need B.P.Ed. or B.P.E. instead of B.Ed.

Only candidates who meet these conditions can apply.

• Passed TET for upper primary level (Class 6 to 8) conducted by UP Government or Government of India.
• B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized course (B.P.Ed. / B.P.E. for Physical Education).
• Social Science: graduation with any two of History, Geography, Political Science and Economics. Science: Physics & Chemistry. Biology: Zoology & Botany.
• A valid certificate of the prescribed eligibility exam must be held by 30.06.2027. Subject-wise full details are in the Download Notification.
• Graduation with minimum 50% marks or Post Graduation with minimum 45% marks in the concerned subject from a recognized University / Deemed University / Institution established by law in India.
• Hindi: also Intermediate with Sanskrit or Uttar Madhyama of UP Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad.

THINGS TO KNOW

• Category, sub-category, date of birth and gender cannot be changed after final submission.
• Male candidates are not eligible for girls’ institutions (except a blind candidate for Music).
• Only one application per subject and category is valid; the last submitted one will be accepted.
• Exam district informed 10 days and exam centre 3 days before the exam via admit card.
• PwD candidates get a scribe and 20 minutes extra per hour.
• Reservation benefits only for domicile of UP; vacancies may increase or decrease. No TA/DA.

How candidates will be picked

Candidates will go through Written Exam (360 Marks), Document Verification, Merit List & Selection, School Allotment and Equal merit: higher graduation %, then training Educational Qualification %, then the older candidate ranks higher..

APPLICATION STEPS

• Apply Now only at ==www.upessc.up.gov.in==; One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory.
• Fill the registration and application form in English only.
• Upload photo and signature in JPG/JPEG (10 KB – 100 KB) and documents in PDF (20 KB – 200 KB).
• Pay the fee online and complete the form by 23.11.2026; keep the fee receipt.
• Women candidates may choose either boys’ or girls’ schools – only one per subject.
• Keep three printouts of the submitted form; two are required at document verification.

• Affidavit (Appendix 6), court-case affidavit, character certificates from last institution and two respectable persons
• Graduation marksheets (all years) and degree
• B.Ed. / B.P.Ed. / B.P.E. marksheet and degree; TET certificate
• Caste / EWS / Freedom Fighter dependent / Disability certificate (Appendix 1–5), NOC for in-service, Ex-serviceman discharge certificate
• High School & Intermediate marksheets and certificates
• Bring two separate sets of self-attested copies along with all originals.
• Two self-attested copies of the online application form
