- Qualifying: 33% in each subject and 40% in aggregate.
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for every wrong answer in MCQs; unattempted questions get no credit or discredit.
- English Composition (Subjective) is typed on computer and checked only for candidates securing 33% or more in General Knowledge.
- If held in multiple shifts, objective marks are normalized by the Standard Deviation Method.

10. HOW TO APPLY
- Apply online only at www.sssc.gov.in under the head “Clerk District Courts of Punjab”.
- Fill the Registration Form, then the Application Form linked to the fee payment gateway.
- Capture a real-time photograph through an inbuilt / web camera.
- Upload scanned passport size photograph (not more than one month old, white background) and signature.
- Pay the fee via internet banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI; the form is submitted only after fee payment.
- Keep a printout of the Online Application Form.
11. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Reservation, age relaxation and fee concession are for residents of Punjab only; reserved-category applicants of other states must apply under UR/General.
- Only one application per category; if more than one is submitted, only the latest is considered.
- Government employees must obtain a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Office / Department.
- Exam may be held anywhere in Northern India; no TA/DA will be paid.
- Answer key objection fee: ₹25/- per objection; re-checking fee: ₹500/- per answer sheet within 30 days of final result.
- A person who married while having a living spouse (or vice versa) is not eligible, unless exempted by the High Court.
- Applicants opting “Others” in gender must hold a certificate of identity under the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.
